About

see her,  a harmonic, crystal child, born a pyrite, a Chicago southern sky, a winter sunshine; capricious, melodic, she must make sound.

Kiayla Ryann (she/her) is a womanist poet, creative strategist, experiential curator, and yogini based in Chicago. Her work centers on exploring authenticity and blends expression, healing, and experimentation in ways that are freeing. As an experiential curator, Kiayla designs and leads healing-centered wellness and arts programming, cultivating partnerships and fundraising initiatives that support community care and creative liberation. She co-produces Poet’s Tea and Pleasure, a Sunday night gathering celebrating poetry, tea, and the joy of being human.

As a performer she has appeared on stages across the U.S., including the Kennedy Center and Steppenwolf Theatre. In 2024, she curated the Chicago Reader’s Poetry Corner, shining a light on femme voices. Her debut poetry collection is set to be published by Mama’s Kitchen Press in 2026.

Kiayla’s website is currently under-construction as she gathers her upcoming collection of poetry but she is so glad you stopped by.

She invites you to her Work with Me page to connect and collaborate on somethin’ liberating.
